
Invisible University for Ukraine / Central European University
The Central European University (CEU), founded in 1991, is a private university addressing global challenges through interdisciplinary education and research. Initially based in Prague and Budapest, CEU relocated all teaching activities to Vienna in 2019, with some research and civic engagement activities also operating in Budapest. CEU promotes cross‑disciplinary collaboration on issues such as climate change, human rights, data privacy, and media freedom, fostering critical thinking and innovative solutions. Through policy labs, NGO engagement, and internships, CEU integrates real‑world experience into its programs. Serving around 1,500 students from over 100 countries and 200 faculty, CEU exemplifies socially responsible higher education committed to a just, sustainable, and inclusive world.
