Beschreibung
Invisible University for Ukraine (IUFU) is a solidarity‑based certificate program designed for Ukrainian undergraduate and graduate students in Ukraine and in displacement whose studies have been disrupted by the war. The program offers an intensive, interdisciplinary learning experience focused on Ukraine’s role in changing European and global contexts, placing students’ questions within a transnational and comparative framework.
IUFU builds on the historical legacy of underground and exile education and the tradition of post‑1989 “Invisible Colleges” in Eastern Europe. It does not replace or duplicate Ukrainian university education; rather, it complements existing institutions by addressing educational gaps caused by the Russian invasion.
The program provides thematic courses, mentoring, research support, and skills‑building in academic English and academic writing. It supports student research, civic engagement, and academic mobility, strengthening connections to European academic centers.
Delivered in a hybrid format, IUFU combines online teaching with on‑site winter and summer schools in Budapest and Lviv, helping counter brain drain by fostering access to transnational educational networks regardless of students’ location.
